Tuesday morning at 5:00 am Pilot Scott Elliott, Justin Bone and I headed to a ranch in Dilley to do an aerial wildlife count and some predator control for coyotes that were giving the rancher a problem. The weather on the radar didn’t look great but we thought let’s see if we can get it done before the weather sets in.
When Scott and Justin headed out to do the survey I grabbed my camera and headed out walking to see what I could find. I have never been south of San Antonio before and couldn’t believe how every plant had thorns or pricks. The ranch was about 1200 acres so I could hear the R-22 the entire time I was out walking. I noticed small drops of rain beginning and decided to head back towards the truck… and then came the rain!!!! Scott and Justin got soaked trying to tie the helicopter back on the trailer. We were happy to have gotten the job finished but I think we will all remember this adventure for a long time.
