Part 4 of my Trip Across the USA takes me to El Paso, TX. El Paso is a very unique airport in that it has Mexican airspace less than 15 NM away and it has a large mountain range just to the West of the airport. The mountains make for an interesting take off if the wind is coming from the west.

As you go east from El Paso you fly off the Edwards Plateau. I have attached a link to a video I took as we flew across the plateau.

As you fly east toward San Antonio/ Austin area you must stop in either Fort Stockon or Pecos. Pecos is a pretty cool airport because they feed you a free burrito and drink when you buy gas. They are pretty good burritos with homemade salsa. The next installment will have me stopping in San Antonio and headed to Houston.
